Code of Conduct
Governing the behavioral expectations of our community to maintain a respectful, safe, and rigorous educational environment.
Guiding Principles
St. John Baptist De La Salle Catholic School builds character as rigorously as it builds academic intellect. Our Code of Conduct is deeply rooted in Lasallian values: respect for all persons, inclusive community, and quality education. Enrollment constitutes a mutual agreement by the student and parents to abide by these rules.
Respect for Peers & Faculty
Students must address teachers, administrative staff, campus guards, and fellow peers with absolute respect. Insubordination and profane language are strictly prohibited.
Zero Tolerance for Bullying
Any form of bullying (physical, verbal, psychological, or cyber) will result in immediate disciplinary action, potentially leading to suspension or permanent expulsion.
Academic Integrity
Cheating, plagiarism, or unauthorized use of AI in assignments undermines the learning process. Academic dishonesty voids the assignment and triggers a parent-teacher disciplinary hearing.
Campus Property
Willful destruction or vandalism of school property, including library books, lab equipment, or desks, requires families to bear full financial replacement costs.
Device & Technology Policy
While we encourage technological literacy, devices must not distract from education.
- Mobile Phones: Must be turned completely off and stored inside the student's bag from the moment they enter the school gates until dismissal at 3:15 PM.
- Confiscation: Phones seen or heard during school hours will be confiscated and kept by the administration until a parent physically retrieves them.
- Laptops: Allowed in classrooms only with explicit permission from the teacher for directly related educational tasks.
Disciplinary Hierarchy
When conduct standards are not met, the school employs a progressive disciplinary approach aimed at restorative justice and behavioral correction:
- Verbal Warning: Addressed directly by the classroom teacher.
- Written Disciplinary Note: Sent to parents via the student portal or physical diary requiring a parent signature.
- Detention / Community Service: Served after school hours performing campus cleanup or administrative assistance.
- Parental Conference & Suspension: For severe or repeated infractions.
- Expulsion: The final resort for actions endangering the community or repeated refusal to adhere to core school policies.
